Ordinary Objects is a first-person comedic supernatural RPG exploring personal identity and empowerment. The game reflects the real-life struggles so many have with living as their authentic selves, without others’ expectations or standards. When protagonist Avery discovers a world of supernatural objects in the background of their everyday life, they begin a transformative journey of casting aside who they “should” be to be who they truly are: curious, courageous, and connected to those around them—even if they’re ketchup guzzling demons from another dimension. Puzzles, games and investigations parallel Avery’s story of self-acceptance and creating their own identity.
Ordinary Objects was concepted and written in 2025 as a final project for a 4-month workshop run by Adam Miller, Kwan Perng, and Christopher Stuart-Reckling.
